A winner of Teen Choice Awards sold her Surfboard for Philanthropy

Although it was many years ago, an act of awareness towards a good cause will never be forgotten, xoxo Gossip Girl.

Blair Waldorf of Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester sold her Teen Choice Awards Surfboard for philanthropy to help Many Hopes. The mission statement of Many Hopes is to rescue children from poverty and abuse and raises them with an imagination for justice and the tools to act on it. Many Hope educates local children to solve the problems that charity alone cannot.

The Gossip Girl actress won two awards, one  in 2009 and one 2010 for her character in Gossip Girl, Blair Waldorf. The actress sold her 2009 surfboard on Ebay for as low as $250 as a starting price for the bid. She also sold some of her designer goods and donating 100% of the proceeds to Many Hopes.
