THE GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF SCORED TWO SPONSORSHIP DEALS
A popular show in Britain, The Great British Bake Off has secured its sponsorship deal after its departure from the BBC heading towards Channel 4.
After it’s last season with the BBC last year, Great British Bake Off is due to start it’s eight series on Channel 4 with a secure sponsorship deal with Dr Oetker and Lyle’s Golden Syrup. This sponsorship however is reported to only include advertisements on either side of the programme but no product placement.
Sales director for Channel 4, Jonathan Allan said, “We’ve had such a great response from a huge range of advertisers wanting to feature in the series, including our new cross-platform superspots and the creative launch ad-break.”
LOS ANGELES MAKES DEAL TO HOST THE 2028 OLYMPICS
LA has struck a deal to become a host for the 2024 Olympic games. Paris, another strong candidate, a two time host of the Olympic games in 1900 and 1924 has also been bidding to host a game in 2024.
According to the committee, both candidates are strong as LA has also previously hosted two successful games in 1932 and 1984. One city will be hosting the 2024 and another city will be hosting the 2028 games. Since Paris did not consider pushing back the dates whilst LA did, this makes Paris the host of 2024 and LA the host of 2028.

PANASONIC ANNOUNCES MULTI-YEAR SPONSORSHIP WITH THE NEW YORK YANKEES
A proud sponsor of the New York Yankees, Panasonic, has been named “Official Shavers and Trimmers of the New York Yankees.” The sponsorship deal was agreed for 2018 and 2019 baseball seasons.
Panasonic will activate branding related to its men’s grooming products within the Yankee stadium and develop consumer touchpoints in-stadium at retail and online.

LIVERPOOL SIGNS DEAL WITH CHINESE WATER BRAND
English soccer team, Liverpool has signed its sponsorship deal with Chinese mineral water brand Tibet Water.
In the agreement, Tibet Water will be working closely with the Premier League on marketing and promotional campaigns in China. It will have a strong brand presence on the Reds’ Chinese language site and their WeChat social media platform.
Neither the financial terms nor the duration has been released but the deal is estimated to mark a major milestone in Tibet Water resources.
MLS CHIEF EXPECTS BECKHAM TO WIN APPROVAL FOR MIAMI CLUB
Beckham’s bid to win approval for Miami franchise was taken up by the league’s board of governors ahead of Wednesday’s All-Star game but has yet to get the final nod.
Don Garber thinks that he will be celebrating with Beckham in a few weeks time even though admits there are still issues to be worked out but declined to elaborate the issues.
Miami Beckham United, the team’s working title, would become the MLS’s 24th team following next season’s launch of Los Angeles FC.
