Are you looking forward to wearing green and pinching anyone who doesn’t? Are you already thinking about finding a Four-Leaf Clover? Or do you prefer to celebrate the 17th of March just with a tasty green beer?
Despite all of the festive clichés, St. Patrick’s Day is, undoubtedly, a great day to FUNdraise. Why? Because the theme is already set! Since this day is all about celebrating, you don’t even have to convince people to go out and take part in your event!
Read about some great examples of FUNdraising organised with a little help of the Lucky Leprechaun:
- Charity run
You don’t have to visit Ireland to get yourself in the St. Patrick’s Day spirit. A good example is BMO St. Patrick’s Day 5K in Vancouver.
For the past 10 years, the St. Patrick’s Day 5km road race has been supporting the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA) with net proceeds from the race going to support the CDA. As part of the 10th Anniversary celebration in 2015, they expanded their Charity Giving to allow participants to fundraise for other charities in their community.
Hundreds of people running in green and having fun, while helping others at the same time – entertaining and effective!
- Charity parade
Parades are one of the St. Patrick’s Day ‘s greatest traditions. They are organized all around the world, but some of them are special: they don’t focus just on celebrating the holiday, but are trying to make the world better.
For example, in its entire 28-year history, the Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee has raised over $850,000 for a wide variety of institutions in the area. It is easy and fun to support a charity; you only need to take part in one of many activities during the parade!
- Charity ball
Yes, dancing under green lights is twice more fun. Add charity and the joy will be endless in St. Patrick’s Day Charity Ball in Glasgow. Last year, just during one evening, they managed to raise £54,000! With this money they supported 3 main charities: The Polar academy, The Eileen McCallum Trust and The Glasgow Holiday Scheme.
And the best thing is yet to come: you don’t even have to find a four-leaf clover to be sure that your activities will be successful!
Let your personal Leprechaun help you find the right way to organise and manage your event!
